Welcome letter

Welcome to the 10th international conference on reproduction, pregnancy and rheumatic diseases

Since 1992, nine successful pregnancy conferences have been held. We take on the challenge of organizing the 10th conference on reproduction, pregnancy and rheumatic diseases in Bern, in Central Europa.

Rheumatic diseases respond differently to pregnancy. Spontaneous improvement during pregnancy occurs in some, but persistent activity or even severe flares are seen in others. Pregnancy in patients with rheumatic diseases needs to be planned, and needs risk assessment in both, mother and child. High risk pregnancies require careful monitoring and tailored therapy to secure maternal health and a positive pregnancy outcome.

The purpose of the conference is to draw together leading experts, scientists, clinicians, and health professionals working in the field of pregnancy in rheumatic diseases, discuss new knowledge about drug management, fertility in autoimmune diseases, the reproduction in male patients , the interaction of pregnancy and rheumatic diseases, the obstetric monitoring and therapy of pregnancy complications and the offspring’s health. With emerging new and effective therapies for rheumatic diseases, the quality of life has improved and hence more patients of fertile age are ready to plan a family.

The meeting will include state of the art lectures, clinical and experimental research, case discussions, posters and oral presentations.

Welcome to join us in the beautiful city of Bern, the capital of Switzerland and a UNESCO World Heritage Site.
