Call for abstracts

The abstract submission is closed. 

Notification letters are going to be sent out in the end of July 2018.

Guidelines for preparation of abstracts



Please read the following guidelines carefully before submitting your abstract:


1.     Abstracts may only be submitted online in Word format. Abstracts submitted by fax or email will not be accepted.

2.     Abstracts must be submitted in English. Please use UK English spelling.

3.     The presenting author of an accepted abstract must register and attend the congress.

4.     Abstracts should be structured as follows:

Background: Indicate the purpose and objective of the research, the hypothesis that was tested or a description of the problem being analyzed or evaluated

Methods: Describe the setting/location for the study, study design, study population, data collection and methods of analysis used

Results: Present as clearly and detailed as possible the findings/outcome of the study, with specific results in summarized form.

Conclusions: Briefly discuss the data and main outcome of the study

5.     Front: Arial (size10) should be used when formatting the text. The abstract text may not be longer than 3500 characters (not including spaces)

6.     One table or one graph may be included.

7.     The Scientific Programme Committee reserves the right to decide on the final allocation and presentation method.

8.     A selected number of abstracts will be accepted for oral presentation based on their scientific merits and on their relation to the topics addressed in the scientific programme of the Congress. We therefore encourage submissions on the main topics covered in the scientific programme.

9.     Disclosure of potential conflict of interest (e.g. grant support, consultancy, membership on advisory councils, speaker’s bureau) by all authors and source of funding are mandatory. Each listed author should prepare a one sentence statement to this effect. (All disclosures should be listed if relevant to the abstract content and all others within the last year.)

10.  Please make sure to state your correct e-mail address. After having submitted your abstract, you will receive a confirmation by e-mail. If you do not receive a confirmation by e-mail please contact abstracts[at] Before contacting our colleagues please make sure that you checked your spam box for the confirmation.

11.  Should you wish to make corrections to an abstract already submitted please contact our colleagues by e-mail abstracts[at] Corrections to abstracts can only be made up to the deadline of 28 June 2018, CET 23:59.

Challenging Cases

A series of challenging cases will be presented during the conference, followed by discussion about how to manage the case by conference attendees. Please send us interesting, challenging, real-world cases of pregnancy in women with rheumatic disease!

We particularly encourage submission of cases by fellows and junior faculty.

The challenging cases will be turned into a manuscript and the author/presenter is expected to participate in the preparation of the case for publication in order to be included as an author on this manuscript.




– Drug management during pregnancy and lactation

– Fertility in autoimmune diseases

– Hormones and the immune system

– Modulation of the immune system by pregnancy

– Interaction of pregnancy and the rheumatic diseases

– Delivery mode and obstetric outcome in rheumatic diseases

– Offspring from rheumatic pregnancy

– Counselling and practical advices during pregnancy and parenthood

– Reproduction in male patients with rheumatic diseases

Best abstract prize

Prizes will be awarded to the best 3 abstracts. Submit your abstract and you will be automatically considered for the prize.


The abstract reviewing and the final decision will be made by the Scientific Committee. Notification of acceptance or rejection of submitted abstracts will be sent to the corresponding authors via email in July 2018. Full instructions concerning preparation and presentation will be included. Please note that only the corresponding author will receive mail concerning the abstract and is responsible for informing all co-authors of the status of the submission.

Travel Grant Application

A limited number of travel grants will be made available to young scientists who are aged 40 or younger (born on or after 1 January 1978) whose abstracts have been accepted for oral or poster presentation.

Interested scientists should click the appropriate checkbox during the online abstract submission process. You will be required to upload a copy of your passport with readily readable date of birth as proof of eligibility.
Prepare this document in one of the following formats: BMP, GIF, JPG or PDF files (size limit 1 MB).
Applications without passport copy or arriving after 28 June 2018, 23:59h CET will not be considered.

Recipients of Travel Grants will be notified in July 2018, after notification of abstract acceptance.
Those who are awarded a Travel Grant will receive travel support to the congress.
